    Is there a way to have only a few recent blog posts show (say..3) in the homepage blog feature area? Right now it's showing my entire archive.

    My site is currently invisible during development.

    Hello,

    You can set no. of blog post to show in home page as shown below in screenshot.

    It will resolve your issue.
