Listing page map

Hello

Is there any way to have a map on the listing page with a pin to the correct location of the business in question?

Also, can I choose to have an image if the business supplies one and if it doesn't 'not' have an empty box displayed?

Regarding the second issue; basically if an individual listing page has an image, it displays like this:

If it doesn't have an image it displays like this:

I need it to display more like this (perhaps even with the detail box, covering more of the page so it doesn't look like anything is missing).

If I change the custom fields, it changes all listings, not just the ones without an available image.

Going back to the first issue that I enquired about; I have done as you explained in the screenshot that you posted above:

Ideally, I would also like a location map for individual businesses, on their individual listings page, I am guessing this is not an option at this time!

Not sure what your problem is other than setting it up correctly, took me a few tries to get it working.

I've found that 3 steps are usually required:

1) Set up the listing locations that you are hoping to use in Business Listings>Listing Location. Don't forget the last entry field at the bottom which is the address for that location and needs to be exact!

2) On each individual listing set the exact business address as Priyanka explained above and then add the location to be used in the right hand widget on the same listing page. This location should correspond with a listing location that you have previously set up in 1)

3) If you have a cache running, delete the cache.

Doing this also places a pin on the individual listing pages map to pinpoint the business which is available - you have of course turned the Geocraft location on under the Geocraft settings as it doesn't show on your screenshot!

Thank you rogerb and Priya for your help, I still seem to be experiencing problems, though, please take a look at the attached and help me work out what I am doing wrong.

I have attached screenshots of my listing page, the listing location page, the theme options with Geo Location Search On and the home page, as it stands. Am I missing anything or setting something up incorrectly?

Also, is it possible to have a map displayed on the listings page, to pinpoint to a user the location of that listing?

One more question, what if I want a map displayed on all listings, not just premium ones?

I don't necessarily want them all marked as premium on the listings page, but I do want a location map on all individual listings, if they have an address available, is this a possibility?

Also, can the map on the listing page correspond with the listing? The Blue Cross listing address is: Blue Cross, Cadeleigh, Tiverton, Devon EX16 8RS, UK
But the map shows the location / address of the magazine / website producers, see screen shot.

 

Have you determined how to have the location pins of your individual listings displayed on the home page? I'm having trouble doing so and have left a support request but, as of this moment, no reply? Thx.

 

If the listing page doesn't show the address accurately its usually because it doesn't recognise the address. I've found that sometimes house/business names are just not recognised unless a street name is included and that causes issues!

I do have accurate listing addresses which appear (pins) on the individual listing pages but not the home page for some reason! Thx for your reply.
P.S. Do you know of ANYONE who has put this theme into production? If so, could you pls share the web addresses so that I can see how they've implemented it? Perhaps I'm simply overestimating the theme's capabilities!

 

I had pins with accurate addresses showing up on the homepage map, but the pins on the individual listings pages did not pin to the address of that individual listing, I was making sure that the listings addresses and the location addresses were not only correct addresses but also matching addresses. I succeeded in adding around 11 pins to the home page map, then the map just disappeared and didn't come back, what could I have done to cause this?

bob323, I am beginning to think along the same lines as you, that perhaps I also have overestimated the capabilities of this theme!

Neither my homepage map or my location map now work, there is space for them but they are not loading, has this happened to anyone else, any suggestions?

Ok, I got it now, I was asking too much of it!

I still don't have an a visible location map on my listing page though, still need to work out what I am doing wrong her.

Roger B, how did you manage to get a location map on non-premium listings, they don't seem to display on mine.

Well, now that you've asked Diane - I'm stumped for once having just had a long look at how to do that!

I don't remember ever having the option to turn it on or off for free listings as I'm sure it used to be on by default anyway, but it should have appeared in the Geocraft Settings > Custom Fields area where for most of the fields you have the option to display/not display for free listings especially when you edit an 'essential field'. Maybe its been left out over the many updates and only support can answer this, I couldn't find a way to turn the map on/off for free listings otherwise.

Does yours look the same as mine - screenshot attached. maybe get support involved again!
