Modify appearance of category menu bar.

On my homepage I notice that the area containing the category headings doesn't blend with the background color. Also it has a 1 pixel border that I'd like to remove or hide as well. Is there a way to hide this using CSS? I've attached an image showing what I'd like to hide/remove from my homepage.
