I would like to display posts within a specific category on a "gallery of posts" page. For instance, posts in the "commercial" category would display on a "Commercial Jobs" page using the same format that the "Latest From the Blog" posts use to display on the home page. The effect would be a "gallery of posts" based on category. Could I get some help making that happen, please?
Hello, You can achieve this by following some steps. Step-1:Create a page and name it as per your need. Step-2:Make every post with the category and after that click on that category to get all post related to that category. Copy the link of the category page and paste it as the link of newly created page in step1. Thanks & Regards Pramod
Thank you, Pramod, However, I was not able to achieve getting a page to display anything at all by pasting in the link of the category page, much less a "gallery of posts". I displayed the category page, copied its link, and pasted it into the link of the page for the "gallery of posts". I tried pasting a number of variations of the link unsuccessfully. I also tried pasting it into the body of the page. Nothing worked. Perhaps I'm missing some subtlety in your instructions. Please clarify.
Hello, Appearance ->menus -> Click on categories select your category and add them on menu. Please follow below link. http://screenpresso.com/=bC3Hc Thanks & Regards Pramod
Thank you, but.... Adding the category to the menu does not provide me with the solution I'm looking for. Please see the uploaded image. That is the way that "recent blog posts" display on the home page, and that format is similar to the way images appear in a photo gallery. What I would like is accomplish is to display summaries of posts just as in the image, but filtered by a specific category in this same way but on a page of my choosing. In other words, I would like posts to display in "gallery style" on a full width page just like they are formatted in the image.
Hello, Please provide URL of website. You can get posts on that category page related to only that category post. You can change their style as you show in image by customization of your theme. Thanks & Regards Pramod
Hi Pramod, Thank you for explaining that a customization would be required. Is that something that InkThemes could do for me? If so, what might the fee be? Or, if you could point me to which PHP file(s) the code is in, then I could have my VA (who is good with PHP) try to customize it. I appreciate your help, Pramod! And Happy Diwali!
Hello, You have to change loop.php and makes its coding similar to front page posts. If you change that file then blog posts page also adopt the same preview. Thanks and regards Pramod
