New Paragraph in Left Featured Discription

I'm new to WordPress and building web sites so forgive this question. But on the Home Page Feature Area in the Left Feature Description area when I hit enter to start a new paragraph or line it will create that within the editor but when I hit save and view live it makes the paragraphs run together...no separation between them. Is there a trick I'm missing?
