Optimal image sizes?

What are the optimal images sizes for this theme? Both for the main image and the thumbnail? We have tried using images based on the sizes of the sample images in the theme and they are not cropping well if there is text or logos on them

There is no image issue - we want to be able to tell clients what the optimal image sizes are for the theme! Surely you know what image sizes work best for the primary image on the listing so that distortion is kept to a minimum???

 

Folks - this is getting ridiculous! This is a VERY simple question, every specialized theme has optimized sizes for certain areas on a theme - just like this theme has a suggested size for the logo, there must an optimal size image upload to avoid serious distortion for images or logos. We tried basing it on the 'default' image in the theme file - but in reality, the default image is also distorted when it is used in place of a custom image.

Hi,

I would like to let you know that you can insert the main image of optimal size, (650x420) px and the thumbnail image of (215x170) px.

Also, you would be glad to know that the theme has the cropping feature too. So, if you will insert images of different sizes, it will be cropped to the required size.

Trying to get your users to crop images always seems a recipe for disaster! I usually let them upload their pictures without cropping, make sure that you set the defaults up for the Wordpress installation first!

If all fails you could try pasting this css code into Geocraft Settings > Theme Options > Styling Options > Custom CSS area. It works for me - not perfect but its enough to be viewable!
