The pages tab is not align properly, I find it difficult to rearrange it without an open space.

I think you are talking about page menu. Theme contain width of 950 px for menu. If we add menu more then that space. Menu tabs will shift to the second line.
I suggest you to create dropdown menu. Go to the Appearance > menus create custom menu from there. which include dropdown menu.
