Parse error: syntax error

    Hi there,

    I am attempting to install this theme but I keep getting the following error:
    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected 'add_theme_support' (T_STRING) in /home/******/public_html/wp-content/themes/eliteprotheme/functions/elite-function.php on line 1

    I see that others have had this issue so I have uninstalled and re-installed wordpress (the latest version) and elite pro (both previous and updated versions) as suggested but this is an on-going issue.

    Please can you assist with this?
