I have a couple pages where I must have deleted the original page, and created a new page with the same name. On the new page permalink showing on the browser, there is a number as in this link: http://www.lakeontariosailing.com/sailing-2/ My question: is there a way to delete that "-2" number?

Thank you for the fast reply Gaurav. However, deleting the pages that were listed in trash permanently only fixed the permalink on one of them. Three remain with a "-2" after the page permalink when viewing the website. Is there another step that I must do? You may vie the link in my first post to see what I mean. Thank you. Ken
Hello, Delete all the pages that are shown "-2" in their permalink from Pages > All Pages panel and also from the Trash of your dashboard. And then re-create all the pages that you have deleted. This will solve your issue.
