Place image in slider text box area

I would like to place an image in the slider text box area. When I do this, even though I minimize the size of the image, the text box still makes it large and does not pay attention to the size I labeled the image as. Can you help? I would like the image to be the size I label it as and not be distorted into a larger size that doesn't look good. I have pasted the code below that I am using in this boxed area and I have also attached a screenshot of the distorted look. Thank you.
