is there a way to make post full width pages?

Sorry to learn, above solution didn't work for you..

Here I am providing you a video, please follow the steps as mentioned in the video given below.

Note: You just need to follow two steps, first one is to comment-out the sidebar section and second will be to replace grid_17 with grid_24 in "single.php" file as I have done in above video.

As I have told you in my earlier post that I am using wp-editor plugin to edit the file.

You can also download and use it from the link https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-editor/.

that worked but i had to delete the line 78 part as commenting out did not work

I really don't have idea why commenting out didn't work at your end because it works perfectly at our side..
