Premium Slider on Category Page Issue

Can anyone help?
I have found a weird issue with the slider on the category page
If you give the category any name except a single word then the slider does not appear at the top of the category page
example
business (works fine)
local business (returns 'no found' where the slider should be)
however if you change the category name to local-business then it works

Am I missing something obvious or is it a known issue?

Update - I switched the category listing to drop down menu and now it is working... very odd!
