    hi,
I am having some issues I hope you can help me with.
    1. I am trying to add a new page, so I started by editing the sample page, but that one I can not change the page url, it keeps being stuck on my home page url. www.safetyforkids.org.uk
So I thought I would start a brand new page, which went fine - with the new page I got my safetyforkids.org.uk/childrens-safety-kits url which I wanted.
However if I try to remove the sample page the template disappeared so I thought I would try to leave the header blank but then I get a shaded block in my tab section, so I then wrote 'About' to see if that would change the permalink - but no it did not. So how do I remove this sample page (now called About) without disturbing the template??

    2. How do I edit the 'read more' url? As at present if I write in the
    "First Feature Description"
area, it seems to go on and on and on, but I wish for it to have that 'read more' ability but can not find where I put/edit that url.....

    3. How do I get the footer widget to show the information you have at the bottom of the template, I also would like the map, the contact us and the other content....

    1.For your first issue

    Just go Appearance > Menus
Create a custom menu and only add the pages you want to show to the public in the navigation bar.

    2.For your second issue.

    Go to
Appearance > Theme Option > Homepage Feature Area > First Feature link

and add your link address there.

    3.For your third issue

You are talking about footer widget area, Go to the
    Appearance > Widgets
Drag text widgets and drop them in the first, second and third widget area and create your own widget
    and for adding Google map
