replace front page blog with text

I want to change the front page so that the text area goes full width and replaces the Blog section

I've done it before with this site http://amarco-iluka.com.au/ but don't remember how I did it!

I want to change this site http://smartawordpress.com/ to the same layout

I am also trying to use the plug-in "The Sticky Menu (Or Anything) On Scroll "

I have created a menu in the site options called "menu 1"

when I use the settings to control what is "sticky" I put Menu 1 but does not work

I have also tried ddsmoothmenu, main-menu etc but still it does not work

can you suggest what I should put there - or can you suggest a better plug-in

 

ok - I worked out the sticky menu - I used .header

 

I now want to make the background a darker grey - whats the css for that ?

 

Hi,

To change the background color, just paste the code given below in Custom CSS section
(Appearance -> Theme Options -> Styling Options -> Custom CSS) of your dashboard.

Code:

body.compass_theme {
    background: #757575 !important;
}

Note:- The above value for the color code is the one that is presently set in your theme, please change the values accordingly
