So can anyone explain how the search fields work as mine seem to return nearly all results?

    +1 on this.

I have asked the same thing in another post and have yet to receive a reply. I read the entire Warrier Forum thread and all of the posts here and I cannot find an answer.

Admin, please address the search query results questions.

I think the search works this way.

First field matches any word in the title/maybe more then links up with the location field to find the listing.
Second field matches with the geo_address field where the address gets set in each listing.

It goes through tons of fields so thats why it's really slow and it never seems to work properly when searching for a specific location on its own (without entering something in the first field).

    Edit:

If you add the Search Widget to a sidebar and use that its much faster and seems to do the trick.

Thanks for that, I'll try the widget and see if that helps. Not too good from a users point of view though, if the main search fields don't appear to work then the whole site will be suspect!

Yeah it's definitely not a fix unless you take out the Location search all together I suppose. If you want some enhanced search features check out http://swiftype.com/wordpress

It scans all your posts, implements autocomplete, and you can adjust your search results. It's currently in beta = free.
