searching business location

When I search a business on my site, and I type a location...

If I type Pensacola it works fine
if I type Pensacola,fl. it comes back no results.
if I add a space...Pensacola, fl. it works fine.


is there any way to make it more forgiving on format?

 

Search query string must contain a space after each comma.

 

could the search box automatically insert a space after a comma to insure the user gets results?
