Is there any way the social media icons can appear at the top of the homepage?

You can try Floating Social Media Links plugin for this issue.
Download it from the link given below and install it from the Plugins panel (Plugins ->Add New ->Upload) in your Dashboard.

This will solve your issue.

 

Thanks for your reply, however Floating Social Media plug-in does not do what is needed. I would like the Social media icons to appear at the top of the site, like on the Andrina theme, Is there any chance you can do that?

Our all the themes are uniquely designed and they have their individual unique features.
So, it is not possible to add social media icons at the top of BlackBird theme unless you custom code something. Sorry.
If this isn't something you're able to do then you would need to hire a freelancer for this.
