Emails of each company's Listing are VISIBLE on the page AND in the page source code. They are not obfuscated (hidden) from spam bots in any way...in the code it appears like this: <a here&body="bodytext" href="mailto:[email protected]?Subject=subject">[email protected]</a> This is going to cause spam bots to have a field day crawling GEOCraft websites - oh joy. :-( :-( :-( Spambot (email address harvesters) look for patterns like [email protected] - so the way GEOCraft's pages render email, it basically food for spam bots. Why do you think so many people use contact forms and anti-captchas these days? I do not know what the long term technical solution is for this( I'm going to try a plugin for now), but I can see Listing owners submitting fake email addresses just to stop the spam, but then this will hurt real consumers! I do not wish my GEOcraft sites to attract spam bots. @INKTHEMES - any ideas??? I don't think you are wrong. I've just checked my site again and although the email links in the footer widgets get encoded the links in the individual listings do not for some reason. I use "Obfuscate e-mail" plugin at the moment. I've just tried the ones you mentioned and get similar results so it seems at the moment that the spam bots will win the fight! Maybe support have other ideas for this?

Sometimes, no matter what precautions you take spam bots can find ways around it. HOWEVER: In general if a company is in a listing they are also on other directory sites/Google/Bing or their own web site where this information is freely available. Looking forward to see if Inkthemes support can build something into the theme as the plugins can only do so much to help. Once again support are being proactive and helpful in this and can only help us if we in turn help them with plenty of feedback.
