StartPoint: Gallery Images ... displayed perfectly square?

Hello, Gurus!

I'm creating a site with StartPoint and would like the gallery images on the home page to display as they are ... not cropped to a portrait size. My uploaded images are perfectly square (500px X 500px), but when displayed on the Home Page are cut off on both sides.

Is this possible?
