So far i have used the Colorway Theme to create www.clubclass.it which is a site in Italian for our language schools in Malta and London. I now need to create another site using the same theme for Switzerland using the domain www.clubclass.ch , however in Switzerland they have three official languages being Italian, German and French. My questions are the following: 1. shall i opt for www.it.clubclass.ch , www.de.clubclass.ch, www.fr.clubclass.ch or www.clubclass.ch/it, www.clubclass.ch/de, www.clubclass.ch/fr for the different languages targeting the same country. The extensive research i have carried out so far is pointing towards a sub folder solution, even for SEO purposes - but i would just like a confirmation. 2. will i need a multilingual plug-in for an one of the above solutions? Any suggestions? Thanks.
Hello, Yes, You can use multi language plug-in (qTranslate plugin) for it. It will provide you language changing option for multiple languages in a same domain. Download it from the link given below. http://wordpress.org/plugins/qtranslate/
Thanks for your reply but my question was - should I opt for a subfolder setup or a subdirectory setup? I think that i have found a solution to the above question which was sent to you earlier on today!! I have searched the net and i am little bit concerned about qTranslate - it seems that it is no longer being supported by its developer and people are moving to WPML (in fact there is a migration tool for such a move, too). Is there a reason why you suggested qTranslate? WPML seems to be the plugin for multilingual sites. Does the WPML plugin now work well with the Colorway Theme, because until a few months ago there were some issues to integrate WPML and the Colorway Theme? I look forward to hearing from you with your comments. Joe
