Greetings all If you had all your christmas's come at once what would you like to see in a child theme for Geocraft. I want the known issues with this theme as well like the following I have read on the forum. 1. Theme appears to load slow. 2. Search feature does not work well 3 Ability to add other payment processors 4. Ability to add different payment options 5. Terms & Conditions feature. If enabled needs to be at top of add listing page with a link to T&C page. 6. Ability in admin area to slow down or speed up Slider feature 7. Ability to turn off the slider and the theme auto adjust - meaning no white space where the slider was. 8. Ability to have a boxed version of the theme. Have seen this in another theme. In admin section choice between full width and boxed theme at a click. 9. Ability to change what free and premium users actually get for their payment. Meaning amount of images and so forth. 10 Fully responsive theme (my android shows that this theme does not apdapt to mobile devices). 11. Anything else I missed. I am keen to hear what you long term users of this theme would like to see in this theme, either as a child theme or in the main theme. A little about my experiences so far with themes such as this. Second time around, used Advantage first time up. Many similar issues with both themes. My personal impression is that both groups have developed a lot of themes and are trying to support these themes with minimal staff and therefore everything suffers.It pains me personally to see someone who has upgraded the theme and the site crashes and still no help from support after 24 hours. Looking at this forum post numbers it has over Discussions:968 Messages:4,162 compared to all the other theme forums this group offers. So it tells me either there is a lot of issues with the theme, or a lot of people are using it, or both or there are other things that I have not seen. Nitish and your team - the comments about support and other areas are not to decry what you are doing here otherwise I woud not be using your theme. Also for myself I trying to decide what to actually do here as I am seeing the same issues with the theme, the support as I had with advantage. Both themes are great in their own ways but people are struggling with them in a lot of ways. I either employ someone to develop a child theme which resolves all these issues to my own satisfaction or I go my merry way and find some other software to manage my site. From feedback I got from one child theme devloper for advantage is that a group of lawyers have spent over 2,000 USD to customise their version just to iron out the looks, the feel and the options it offers of their advantage theme I seen a New Zealand company who I think is using Geocraft as looks and operates like Geocraft, develop a heavily customised version which I am assuming (dangerous) they done to the main theme. I am not prepared to spend huge amounts of dollars but understand it costs to develop things, so before I walk this road I would like to know from the users what features - child-theme could be added to make our lives (users) far more comfortable than they are now in using this theme. I have to agree with nzcid. This is a great theme with masses of potential to be the best directory theme out there, but it does seem that there are many recurring problems, or at least problems that do not have a definitive fix built into the theme (instead of having to add CSS codes etc).....and there are also a number of simple feature requests made by many people that would make the theme so much better. I'm keen to hear your thoughts, support.
Greetings all, I think during last months Inkthemes' Team has done a lot of efforts to improve the Geocraft theme. Although they cannot solve/reply satisfactorily to all issues/demands, it seems this is one of the most responsive WP themes I've ever knew. But I entirely agree with Ian (nzcid) and with all of you about the need of adding those important features in the theme next weeks/months.
