Translating/Localizing the Theme (not the website)

    There is a languages directory but it does not seem to pickup the .po

    How can I translate things like "Continue Reading…" to other languages?

    For e.g. Dutch it does not take a -nl_NL .po and .mo

    Go to blog.php present in your theme directory and follow the instruction as shown in image given below

    This will solve your issue.

    I'd hope there would be a more elegant/intelligent implementation using the Language facilities (.PO files), I'd like to put this in as a feature request please.

    (sure I can edit the .php, but this would need to be done for every localized site, and redone for every new release…)
