Using the latest version of the theme and all is going ok in building the web site up to a good standard.

That is until I went to update my own profile. Logged in as the administrator, went to my dashboard and went to update my profile.

    I received :

"This is somewhat embarrassing, isn’t it?
It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching, or one of the links below, can help."

Every thing else seems to be OK

    All help appreciated

    Roger

Hi Roger, no problem with it on my dev site, it brings up the admin profile via the dashboard - www.mysitename.com/dasboard/?action=profile

    Hi Roger,

I just tested this and I did not have a problem updating my admin profile either.

However, I do have a plugin installed that could directly affect this. It is called: User Role Editor.

    Thanks both,

I also have that plugin installed/activated in order to be able to allow detail such as pictures/videos to be inserted into the description area.

I'll try deactivating it later on today when I get home to see what happens.

What made you think that this might be the issue Russ?

    Hi Roger,

Because I am running 1.7.9 and do not have the issue.

This morning I was suggesting that my plugin could be masking the issue for me, if it was theme related, since the plugin includes code that directly affects the profile.
Now that you mention it, I suppose that the inverse could be true and it could be the plugin(s) affecting the theme. So I just deactivated the plugin, updated my profile and still had no issue.
Therefore, it has to be your installation.
Assuming that Wordpress itself is not broken then I would suspect the plugins since the theme works for me.
If you experiment with the plugins and don't affect the problem then it is some problem with the theme unique to your installation.

    Hope this helps,
    Russ

    Thanks Russ,

So, I deactivated all plugins and still had the same problem. Reset the permalinks to default and back again with no success. I've also updated to Wordpress 3.6 to be on the safe side.

I'll log a support call as soon as I can to try and get this sorted!

    Hi Per,

    No its still an issue.

I gave Inkthemes a login and the first time someone visited they turned off the firewall and nothing else was heard from them although they seemed to think I was using a theme called 'slice' !!

Sent another email and I've just seen the firewall block what it thinks is a sql injection attack from india.

Hmm . . awaiting more information from inkthemes now as I'm not sure at what point this problem occurred, its either Wordpress itself or the theme as deactivating all plugins/resetting the permalinks doesn't solve the issue!

    Hello Rogerb,

Please download file attached and replace it with your "dashboard_functions.php".
    It will resolve this issue.

Oh dear . . . I've just tried this again on 1.8 and have exactly the same problem as before. I don't like to try the quick fix above until support has had a look! What on earth happens to cause this - any ideas support?

I have reuploaded the theme and reapplied the file that you suggested.

However, whilst it doesn't give the error now it also doesn't update all the information in the profile either - web site name for instance.

How could this have happened again?

Support would appear to be ignoring this outstanding issue as it is still not updating the profile correctly.
