Updating to the responsive site version?

I have had this site for about 2 years and it is not responsive on the mobile version

I tried uploading the new zip file but it says that the folder already exists. I am afraid if I delete the old folder that all my information and formatting will be lost what do I do?

I got your concern, you can create a backup of your site theme and content.

To create a backup of your theme, install and activate WP EDITOR plugin.
and go to Dashboard->Appearance->Theme Editor and click download theme button to download your current theme.

Now go to Dashboard->Tools where you will find Export website contents.
just do like this and in this way your site's backup would be ready.

Now you can install latest version of this theme.

Sorry but the theme will not load because it says "the file already exists" don't i have to go into the file manager and delete the file Colorway Theme in the Themes folder? If I do that will i lose all the content?
