    Hello support,

Using the latest version of the theme (v2.0.5) I have turned Geo Location on and have updated some listings with locations to try it out.

    However:

Although the pins show up on the home page map area the actual map does not. Is there something else I should have done to activate this. I have cleared all caches!

    See: http://www.inboston.co.uk/

Also how do I manage the map size/zoom level when I do get this to work?

    Thanks

    Roger B

OK, well checking further it seems that the map appears in Safari but not Firefox, Crome or Opera on my new iMac. Have checked all preferences and deleted all caches that I can find!

Also on Safari the zoom level of the map is worldwide and it needs to be far more local in the UK for my directory!

Thanks Priyanka, Unfortunately, I've downloaded the theme again (it still shows as v2.0.5) and the map still does not show! It does seem to have centred the pins on the map in the window however!

Update: Your demonstration web site (linked from an Inkthemes email for Stripe integration) shows the map correctly on Chrome/Firefox/Opera so there is a difference between my current theme and your theme that is used for your demo site.

I have downloaded the latest theme version 2.0.6 and find that this issue is still present on all browsers except Safari.

I have tried deactivating all plugins and removing all css code, deleted the cache and the issue is still present!

Any news on what is happening with this?

OK, on rebuilding and checking the css code again I found that the following line of code to be the problem.

    img { max-width:100% !important; height:auto !important;}

Thing is - this was supplied by Inkthemes some time ago for a specific problem although I cannot remember what it was now, I've commented it out and can't see the difference its made! I assume that the latest version of the theme removed the original problem!

OK, well there are still issues. The map does not refresh fully and still shows a pin when no record has this information! How do we give a manual refresh to the map or fix this problem?

    Hello Roger,

You are suggested to share your site URL here as we have checked the theme at our end but didn't get such flaw in that.

There may be some caching issue in your site, would you please clear your browser and server cache (If you are using any plugin eg: WP SUPER CACHE) and see the result.

    This will resolve your issue,

    Thanks!

    Hi Naveen,

    Site is: http://www.inboston.co.uk/

Have tried deactivating Quick Cache Pro and clearing browser cache but no difference. The pin still shows (its off screen to the left) and when clicked there are no listing to display!

Have also checked the listings for any mistakes and all seem OK. This is preparation before creating multiple listings!

    OK, found the map problem.

I have five listings and 5 locations. One location was not used on any listing but still showed as a pin on the map!

Deleted the location and the pin disappeared! This means I can't make up all my locations in advance as it will be confusing to a user if there are pins which return no listings when clicked!

    ALSO

When a user creates a listing how do they enter the location or create it if its not already in existence? Does this mean as the administrator that I have to go in and enter this on every listing submitted?

It seems you are facing trouble in showing up the pinned location on MAP is that so, There is a listing location field appears under Dashboard->Business Listings and for pinning the location you must have a value inserted for a particular listing location.

If you removed it from there then, It won't be displayed anymore.

    Thanks!

Thanks but I had already figured out the pin problem if you look at the post above and fixed it but the administration seems clumsy to say the least.

    The issues now are:

This means I can't make up all my locations in advance as it will be confusing to a user if there are pins which return no listings when clicked!

    ALSO

When a user creates a listing how do they enter the location or create it if its not already in existence? Does this mean as the administrator that I have to go in and enter this on every listing submitted?

Can you clarify this issue and what is to be done about it rather than simply ignoring it?

    Hello Roger,

As you know that the google map search will allow a user to search all the listing for the pinned location and you can pin your listing location there.

Would you please clarify your issue, I think there is some miss confusion, It would be better if you share some edited screenshots of your issues (concerned areas of the theme).

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Warm Regards!

    Quite simply the issue is:

If I create many locations ready to use they all appear as pins on the map even though there are no listings using those locations - try it for yourself and see! Therefore when a user clicks a map pin they get a 'no listings to display' message on the screen which is confusing.

Tell me, how does a user select their location when creating a listing as there is not a drop down for them to choose from? The only way at the moment is for an administrator to manually do this for them and the IDE is not able to offer a search facility to find the listing(s) that need attention.

This is not well thought out implementation and needs some urgent attention from your project team - assuming you have one!
