Just realized that there is no way for a user to delete his or her own profile (user account) when using a GeoCraft enabled site. That is an important part of a privacy policy, which all sites like this should have. Of course I can create a new page with a form for users to request deletion, but that puts the burden on the site administrator - it would be much better to let them do it on their own. Ideally it would be an option in the Dashboard, near "Edit Profile" once the user is logged in.
Hello, I think admin permission is must for user, Who want to delete account. Creating a new page with a form for users to request deletion is a best idea that you have suggested. Through this form admin can contact user before deleting account and can ask reason behind it. Direct deleting option will reduce control of admin, over user.
Thought I would give some input on this because I was looking to do this as well on Geocraft and Classicraft. I tried several plugins and was not able to get it to work, so I came up with another solution that I am planning to implement. I have an FAQ section and adding "How can I remove my account?" In answers I will put that all accounts have to be removed by admin and to Go HERE to delete your account. I plan to create a page with a form using a form plugin basically asking to give a reason to help us improve our site with radio buttons that have reasons listed and other with comments that can be added. Hope this help someone!
