Using "Display Posts Shortcode" with Gommero theme

Hi guys! I want to display my recent posts on my static homepage. I have installed the " Display Posts Shortcode" plugin but I can't work out where to put the code. If I put it in the Home Page Intro box I just get the a uptick code displayed on my page. Can you tell me where to enter the code or is there another way to have my 5 most recent posts display on my home page?

Thanks Sobhagya. I followed those instructions and they worked but displaying my recent posts also divides the page into columns and puts the categories, and sidebar widgets etc on the right. I don't want them to show. I just want the 3-5 most recent posts in a bar across the page. Is that possible?
