Using Shortcode in sidebar widgets

    I have found to use shortcode in sidebar widgets, I need to paste code:
    add_filter('widget_text', 'do_shortcode');
    in functions.php.
    Please let me know can I do this with themia theme. If possible, where exactly do I paste in this code. Thanks!
