Using the shortcodes for page types

Have been working on the elite theme for a client and cant find the instructions for using the shortcodes functions when writing the page content !

Do I have to buy the shortcodes plugin to be able to use/edit this function ?

Thanks for the prompt response to my query - I think that solves my problem

I am adding several sections to the website incl e-commerce hopefully I will be finished early next week and will make link available for your feedback
