Just as everything was going smoothly, I have tested the HD .mp4 videos on 2 different Android phones and they are not working. When you click on the link it says... Flash version 10.1 or greater is required / you have no flash plugin installed. It works fine on iPad and iPhone , etc but not on Android - I tried changing the 'wpvp_flowplayer.js' back to the default setting but it seems to make no difference. Does not work fine on Android 4 Sony Xperia. It says Flash version 10.1 or greater is required / you have no flash plugin installed. It then provides a link to download the latest version of Flash but when you click the link it says it "it is not supported on your device!" I have tried manually installing Flash Player from the Adobe website Flash Archives - it will then play the videos very badly (stutters) and the controls are squashed and the videos do not scale, so half the video is cut off, even when rotated! Customers will want it to work without having to go searching the Adobe website for versions of Flash. It needs to work straight away or the automatic download link needs to work. If you can look into this issue please as it is a fundamental part of the theme. Have tried it on an updated Sony Xperia Arc (Android 4.0.4) and a Sony Xperia SP (newer model)
I have been in contact with the FlowPlayer website and received the following response as to why the MP4 videos were only working on some Android Devices. Could you please check within your code that this is how it is set up, I don't really want to pay someone $300 to sort this out for me. Flowplayer Flash will only work in Flash mode on Android. You can use these tips www.alynnlee.com:9996/…/n-all-browsers-android.aspx in combination with the ipad plugin, but this will not work with OBJECT embed, only an API install (using flowplayer-3.2.x javascript). Which would be better anyway as you can easily set the splash image like explained here: http:… It does not take much Flowplayer knowledge for this, just reading the docs and configuring everything correctly. It's mro important to find someone who know how to integrate this in WP )
