Website Load Times

Hi,
What's the best way to check if your site is running quickly or loading fast?

I had a client tell me it wasn't working yesterday. When I access sometimes it loads slowly, especially the pictures. Can you double check? I know on your site you advertise that Colorway is a fast theme.

I looked in my google analytics under load times and it just shows
0:00 meaning its not taking long to load.

Should I check aw stats or do you suggest another way?

I need to know if the site is slow or fine. I need it to have it load quickly in the future.

We have checked your website and it seems that you are using too big images in your featured area and for blog. Use recommended dimension image for your site.

Recommended dimension for featured area image is 196px width x 114px height.

and for blog you can use a image of dimension 600px width and 800px height.

Note:- Do not use too big images for your website it makes site slow.

 

Hi, I changed the size for the featured area pictures, can you check if that made a difference? I didn't change the blog photo's yet.

If the pictures in the blog are big, will it slow down the homepage to load?

Yes, Your site load time reduces, Blog images does not create much effect on homepage load time but if you can use small images for your blog then it will make your site much faster then now.

Note: You can also use any cache plugin for making your site fast.

Or you can try WP Super Cache.
Download it from the link given below and install it from the Plugins panel (Plugins ->Add New ->Upload) in your Dashboard.
