Shouldn't premium and/or featured listings sort to top of page?

Another vote from another member for this request, support - please provide what we are asking for - thank you.

 

We are using same theme for http://www.b2bclassifieds.in and its showing premium listing category wise also.

 

Sorry Harish, not exactly sure what you are saying -- if you enter a category name into your main top search fields, the result does not take you to a page with the featured category slider. To actually display the featured category listings, you'd have to use the sidebar search tool.

Just saying in my opinion, that decreases the value of charging a premium for that feature because the primary visitor search method is going to be the top search fields, which means that an even smaller portion of site visitors are ever even going to see the featured category slider displayed at all. So to an advertising client, there is little value in paying for a feature that in reality is rarely going to be displayed. Kind of a bummer because I think that the Featured Category Listing would be even more valuable than the Homepage Featured if it was displayed on the majority of site searches.

We have planned to release an update for Geocraft theme with additional features listed below.
1) On/off option to display pro listings of the front page at the top.
2) Google Re-Captcha integration with registration page and lead capture form. In which you can generate your public and private key to activate captcha.
3) Child theme enabled. Now child theme will work for internal files too. It will make update easy for customized themes.

Theme is ready. But testing is taking time.
We will try to release updated theme today or maximum tomorrow.

Good to hear about these features in the new upgrade - but they are not addressing the issue so many of us are asking about.

I have asked several times in several threads for support to show us the coding used in the original theme to make PREMIUM listings show above FREE listings.

It can't be difficult to share that if it was part of the original coding. I'm making that request again. Please add it here.

Hello All,

Finally Geocraft theme update released (version 1.8.2) with changes listed above.
Please download theme from your members area.
Use child theme while updating theme. Now you can also add files from subdirectory in the child theme. Just keep file path correct.
For example: If you have done some editing in the "front_end_path.php" (geocrafttheme\library\text_domains\front_end_path.php). Then copy "library" directory and paste it in the child theme directory.

Yes this feature is also added in the theme, With on/off option in the
Appearance > theme options > Listing settings > Filter Listings Top By Paid Listing

can someone please explain the directions on how to make the featured ads first in the paid listings...the update listed above just makes all paid listings on top...i need featured on top??
